The Music Group at St Anne's

We're Back!

The Music Group had to stop for a while due to the scarcity of Pianists.  But we are now reforming in a slightly different way and are preparing for the Christmas Show.   Depending on how things go, we may give a short performance prior to this - but let's wait and see.

There is much to do.

We are looking for musicians to join with us and help us deliver music from many genres, from Classical to Jazz and Swing.  You will find a couple of recordings below to give you an idea of our range.

Caught Rehearsing

The Chorus rehearse a Medieval piece Acapella

Here we are rehearsing a real catchy tune Called "Gaudate" written in the 1500's, some may say its a bit earlier than that.  I've left the full rehearsal of the song in as it shows a true reflection of how much fun you can have and a good natter while rehearsing.  We were joined by our friends from Cartmel Priory Choir in rehearsals and for the show.  The singers from Haverthwaite were largely choral beginners.

So here it is - Warts and all.

The Christmas Concert

The Christmas Concert is scheduled for Saturday 8th December starting at 7:00 pm in St Anne's Church.

I am aware that we have not seen the end of summer yet, but as we had missed a couple of Christmas Concerts I thought I had better let you know early so you can get the date in your diary.

We are still organising things with people checking their work patterns and availability and we are nowhere near getting the programme finalised.  But that will come soon, so keep your eyes pealed and watch this space!
